Tent City
FAQs
-
You sure can! Handpicked offers two campsite options:
Tent City: This area is for tents and swags. Nothing with wheels is permitted in this area.
Camper & Caravans:
These sites are larger sites, ideal for larger camping set ups such as caravans and campers.*these locations require seperate tickets as they are 2x fenced locations.
-
Access to the Tent City campsite opens on the morning of Handpicked Festival at 11:30am. You will NOT be allowed to drive OUT again as the road will be closed for event patrons coming into the Festival.
Tent City will close at 4:00pm and be reopened after the last act has finished on stage at approximately 10:30pm.
-
Tent City Campsites: Each campsite is approximately 4x4m.
Camper & Caravan Sites: approximately 5x12m
We do not sell campsites as the campgrounds are not divided into individual sites. We therefore recommend arriving with your group as the same time to ensure your campsites are together/close to each other.
Overly elaborate campsites are discouraged, Please do not go over the top with your camping setup.
-
Once you’ve entered the festival you will not be able to continually walk to and from tent city so make sure you bring any jackets /chairs etc that you want at the beginning. This also means once you choose to head back to your tent to go to bed, you will not be able to reenter the festival.
-
You must show your camping ticket when first entering Tent City, from here you will be given a wrist band that needs to be shown to re-enter the campsite when the Festival finishes at approximately 10:30pm.
You will not have access to go in and out of Tent City as there is a ‘no pass-out’ policy at Handpicked for security and safety reasons
-
Absolutely, we want families to feel safe and comfortable while camping at Handpicked Festival, which is why we have dedicated 'Family Camping Zone' within our Tent City reserved for families.
Upon arrival, families with kids can settle into a designated area within the zone, within Tent City. While it's not separately fenced off, this family-friendly section is slightly removed from the main zone to provide a more relaxed atmosphere.
Rest assured, it’s still within the secure, overall fenced area of Tent City.
Please note; Kids 3 years and over will still need their own Tent City Pass to camp. (Kids under 3 are free).
We look forward to creating a memorable and enjoyable camping experience for you and your family!
-
All cars will be subject to a random safety and security check at the entrance of Tent City. Any prohibited items will be confiscated including alcohol.
-
You must DEPART from Tent City by 11:30am on the Sunday after the festival. Your belongings and campsite must be packed up and clear by this time.
There will be police and random breath testing outside of Lake Breeze Wines, so please see campsite security and staff if you do not believe you are safe to drive home by 11.30am. We want everybody to be safe and will be lenient of the departure time if necessary.
-
Yes Tent City will have 24-hour security on hand to ensure the safety and amenity of all campers.
Our security personnel also have the right to search bags and vehicles for any prohibited items such as glass, alcohol, weapons, illegal substances, cooking equipment etc brought within the campground. All queries and concerns onsite should be directed to security personnel.

-
Cars, campervans or any other vehicles will NOT be allowed in Tent City. Thse vehicles can only be on site with a Caravan Pass.
For Tent City Campers, your vehicles MUST be parked in the Festival Car Park for safety reasons. Therefore, you will be required to carry your belongings from your car to your campsite.
-
If your group contains anyone under the age of 18 years old, there MUST be at least one parent or responsible adult guardian. While technically an adult is anyone aged over 18 years old, it is not our preference that an 18-year-old should be responsible for minors. Anyone considering nominating themselves as the responsible adult in their group should consider this responsibility very carefully.
